Happy Holidays to all you Missouri Music Teachers! I thought this quote from Thomas Carlyle was quite appropriate. "Music is well said to be the speech of angels; in fact, nothing among the utterances allowed to man is felt to be so divine. It brings us near to the infinite."
I think we all try to instill in our students the ability to speak through their music with "divine utterances", sometimes they are successful and sometimes not! However, the journey toward that goal is always a growing experience.
Thank you to all who helped make the final student auditions of the 1900's a success. We appreciate the efforts of all the district and state chairpersons and also all of you members who adjudicated on either the district or state level. Your dedication is reflected in the success of the entire state auditions process. It has been an honor to work with you all.
Please call or e-mail any suggestions or concerns you may have concerning
auditions in the year 2000!
