Nominations for MMTA Teacher of the Year sought

Annette Burkhart, MMTA Pedagogy Chair, writes:
I am writing to solicit nominations from our membership for the annual Teacher of the Year Award. This award honors outstanding accomplishments in teaching, performing, and community service. I have enclosed the application form (click here to download the application form in Word DOC format).

I’m sure we all feel that picking one qualified teacher above others is a difficult job. However, our state board feels strongly about honoring a teacher every year. We would like to have a good pool of applicants. There is no lack of outstanding teachers in our organization!

The deadline will be August 1st. Please contact me by email (burkrt at swbell dot net) or phone (314-821-3484) for questions.

The St. Louis Area Music Teachers Association has elected a new slate of officers for the 2006-2007 year:

Barbara Altman, Vice-President for Publicity

Wendy Martin, Recording Secretary

Marlana Strasburg, Corresponding Secretary

Cheryl Stewart, Treasurer

Diane Pfleger, Auditor

Mary Anderson, Immediate Past President
