After sending out the announcement last week warning about a scam targeting music teachers (strangers write offering to pay for music lessons for a student visiting from a foreign country, they pay via cashier's check that turns out to be forged), I heard from many MMTA teachers saying they had received these bogus offers. So, please, beware! Also MMTA member Tony Glise wrote about a similar scam that can happen when you advertise a musical instrument (or, really, anything else) for sale.
