2006 MMTA Auditions Schedule
  • MMTA Pre-College Auditions Schedule [ HTML format | Excel format ] - this file lists all performers by grade, time, performer number, and repertoire.
  • MMTA Pre-Collegiate Monitor Schedule [PDF format] (for teachers with 2 or more students in auditions Sunday)
    NOTE 1: Please note that, per the MMTA audition rules, requests for special times or changes to the schedule are not permitted. Please don't ask.

    NOTE 2: Performer name and teacher name are not shown, so that students can remain anonymous to adjudicators. However, you can find a particular student's time/room by examining the grade level and repertoire.

    NOTE 3: The performers are sorted ALPHABETICALLY by medium (Organ, Percussion, Piano, String, Voice) and then by Grade (alphabetically, which means: 1, 10, 11, 12, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Kindergarten).

All MTNA competition application forms and rules are on the Competitions Page of the MTNA web site. To use the online registration for MTNA competitions, read through all the MTNA competition guidelines and you will find the link to the online registration page on the last page of the competition guidelines (apparently they want you to read all the rules before filling out your application form . . . ).

Note that national finals for MTNA will be in Toronto, Ontario, on March 23-27, 2007. Finalists who are not Canadian citizens will need appropriate governmental documentation (e.g. passports) to travel into and out of the country. U.S. citizens may visit the U.S. State Department website for up-to-date requirements and tips on traveling to Canada.

    Please note that all MTNA competitions and collegiate MMTA Honors Auditions will have rehearsal time available in the competition room. Depending on room availability the rehearsal times will usually be the afternoon/evening before the competition or (occasionally) the morning of the competition. Competitors wishing to use the available rehearsal time should plan for the possibility of arriving in St. Joseph as early as the afternoon before the date scheduled for their competition in order to accommodate the available rehearsal times. Audition chairs will contact teachers to schedule specific audition times.

2004 Auditions Booklet Correction

There was a misprint on page 7 of the 2004 MMTA Auditions insert (the printed version of the insert that comes in MMTA Notes). Page 7 INCORRECTLY states that collegiate level MMTA Honors performers should play two compositions.

The correct requirement is "Three compositions in contrasting styles or periods."

Here is how the section should, correctly, read:
